Who We Are

Our Mission

Richland is the only city left in the Tri-Cities where all seven members of the City Council are elected at-large. As a result, there are entire neighborhoods in Richland which have not had representation at the council level for many years. This lopsided distribution of council members translates to a lack of accountability to Richland residents by the council. A Better Richland aims to remedy this problem by using the initiative process outlined in the City Charter to allow Richland residents to vote on an initiative to create voting districts within the city and then have each district elect its own representative to City Council.
